TechZone speakers for Auto Trade EXPO confirmed

The list of speakers presenting at the TechZone at the heart of the Auto Trade EXPO, at Citywest Exhibition Centre, October 22-23 have been confirmed.

James Dillon

James Dillon is a serving Vehicle Master Technician. Known throughout the motor industry as a diagnostic specialist, he runs a specialist diagnostic workshop in the South West of England.

Saturday:
‘Connected Cars – diagnostics and business’ in this session James Dillon will provide a mechanics perspective on the impact, both technical and from a business viewpoint, on the connected car.

Sunday:
‘Dirty Diesel – next generation engine power’ in this session James will discuss the current state of Diesel Power after the emissions scandal.

Frank Massey

Frank Massey is one of the UK’s leading experts in vehicle diagnostics with over 40 years of industry experience.

Frank’s presentation will focus on the evolution of direct petrol injection.

He will cover the advances in engine design and how they complement fuelling efficiency and discuss the impacts on servicing and repair as well as the challenges of emissions regulations and euro 6+.

Martyn Holt

Martyn Holt is the Product Development Manager responsible for engine and cooling system components at Schaeffler (UK) Ltd.

Martyn possesses an in-depth knowledge of current and future cooling system technology, including electric water pumps and thermal management modules (TMM).

He is giving a talk on Modern Thermal Management Systems

Richard Stain

Richard Stain has a wealth of motor trade experience going back to 1987 and is a qualified Master Technician.

Richard will be talking about digital service records which are becoming increasingly popular with vehicle manufacturers with important implications for the aftermarket, and also J2534 pass- through diagnostics.

Philip Rutt

Philip Rutt is an Automotive Distribution and OEM Support Engineer with Pico Automotive.

Philip is giving a talk on an introduction to Oscilloscope diagnostics:
Where to start, What to do And how to succeed

The talk will cover: What is PicoScope? voltage over time, PicoScope software, capture waveforms, non-intrusive testing and waveform library.

Keith Walsh

Keith Walsh is a partner in MKW Training, Bosch’s Training Centre for Ireland and MKW Motors, the Bosch Car Service Centre in Dublin where he specialises in diagnostics, and carries out repairs to all makes and models.

Keith is giving a talk about Hi Voltage, Hybrid-Hi Voltage and Electric vehicles – System Layout, component description and operation, certification & safety criteria.
