Shop Bodyshop Direct is set to showcase its Deltron of D8131 UHS Clearcoat at the AutoTrade EXPO, Citywest Hotel & Exhibition Centre, Dublin, October 20-21.
D8131 UHS Clearcoat has been developed using the latest PPG clearcoat technology to enhance its innovative paint system.
D8131 provides bodyshops with an easy to use clearcoat, which combines high speed drying and easy polish for all repairs. It comes with a smart and simple package with one hardener dedicated for standard temperature application, the company states.
Shop Bodyshop Direct, partnered with the global paints company 12 months ago representing PPG’s PPG’s Envirobase, MaxMeyer, PPG DelFleet and Selemix Paint Systems nationwide.
PPG’s extensive range includes products for both automotive OEM and automotive refinish markets. PPG company is the only supplier of coatings to have a presence at all car manufacturers, and its products are used throughout the lifetime of motor cars, from new build to repair.
Two out of three cars made in Europe and North America today use PPG technology and knowhow. This makes PPG the supplier of choice for Motor Manufacturers and Bodyshops, according to the company.
Fifteen years ago, at a time of spiralling prices in the bodyshop sector, Shop Bodyshop Direct, realised that it could deliver great value for money to the bodyshop sector, by going direct to the end user. The business proposition has seen the company build up a 1,000 strong customer database, with up to 400 bodyshops visited every week.
Owner, Jonathan Penny describes the business model: “Our strategy is simple. We supply direct to our customers, where we learn the market requirements first hand. With over 1,000 customers, and up to 400 bodyshop visits per week, we have achieved a very close alliance with the industry.”
He added: “Our portfolio is ever expanding, and we would certainly be unrivalled in having the largest and widest range of consumables and equipment under one roof.”
Jonathan is delighted to have added D8131 UHS Clearcoat to its portfolio of refinish products. He enthused: “This user-friendly clearcoat delivers easy application and fantastic flow from the gun with great sag resistance. It requires minimal effort to achieve a nice flat finish, which makes it easier to achieve the right first time results.”
He added: “Due to its outstanding through cure properties, it cures to an extremely hard finish, which allows for fast handling straight out of the both once cooled, allowing a quicker re-fit time.”
Shop Bodyshop Direct says the D8131 UHS Clearcoat gives a high gloss finish and gloss retention, which delivers flawless mirror-like appearance to give confidence in achieving total customer satisfaction with the repair. All this adds up to reduced polishing and improved process times.
D8131 UHS Clearcoat is easy to use with a simple 2:1 mix, which saves time in the bodyshop. It dries in just 15 mins at 60 degrees C panel temperature. Reduced bake cycle allows bodyshops to complete work faster to further maximise spray booth utilisation, which ultimately increases job through put.
Jonathan concluded: “D8131 UHS Clearcoat is suitable for all types of repair from spot and panel repairs to full re-sprays. Complete flexibility allows bodyshops to use just one clearcoat for all job types to reduce stockholding and reduce wastage due to the 60 minute workable pot life.”
