AES Bord na Móna have won an innovation award for its Tyre recycling facility.
The tyre collection and recycling landscape in Ireland changed irrevocably with the arrival of AES Bord na Móna, as a major player in the tyre collection and recycling market.
As part of the Bord na Móna group, AES brings a wealth of experience gained over many years of involvement in the recycling industry and responsible waste management solutions to deliver a premium offering to the tyre retailers through the Repak ELT Compliance Scheme – with efficient operations in all areas from collections, administration, processing, new products and markets supported by the largest collection fleet in the industry.
AES Bord na Móna operates a unique standalone tyre recycling facility comprising of a 13 acre site, providing local jobs and offering 70,000 square foot of production space in Donore Road, Drogheda, Co. Louth.
The site features a state of the art recycling and remanufacturing facility covering all aspects of the rubber tyre recycling process from shredding, granulation and milling, to the production of saleable recycled products. Every tyre is 100 per cent recycled.
The facility is the only one of its kind in the country and provides a specialised and compliant tyre recycling service to the tyre trade on the island of Ireland. The site is ideally placed for expansion and further development as may be required in years to come.
