Dayco to highlight belt in oil opportunities at Auto Trade EXPO

Dayco continues to take the opportunities to reach motor trade professionals presented by trade shows on both side of the Irish Sea with its commitment to exhibit at the forthcoming Auto Trade EXPO, at the RDS Dublin on Saturday and Sunday October 15-16.

Alongside a full training schedule, the company shall naturally be showcasing its ever-growing range of aftermarket repair solutions that in addition to power transmission components, also includes wheel bearings, steering and suspension and thermal management products.

“While drawing attention to our growing range of products is an essential part of our presence at the Auto Trade EXPO, our two central messages are to highlight the opportunities that developing technology provide and raise the importance of installation best practice,” said Dayco’s National Sales Manager, Steve Carolan.

“This approach allows us to discuss subjects such as the design of FEAD systems and their drive components, including new belt materials and the importance of using the correct, vehicle specific applications. We can also address BIO (belt in oil) timing systems and focus on their design, installation and service/maintenance best practice requirements, particularly the Ford EcoBoost and PSA PureTech engines, for which we’ve also produced two free-to-view YouTube videos – https://youtu.be/fDkoaPwbfpg and https://youtu.be/jfqXu1qzuj4.

“Another message we are keen to get across is the need to remain focused on current technology and that of the immediate future associated with combustion engines because, although electric and hybrid vehicles are all the rage, realistically, workshops will still be dealing with petrol and diesel engine technology for at least the next decade!

“In common with many of the components fitted to the modern vehicle, timing and auxiliary drive system replacement is a highly skilled process that requires attention to detail and the necessity to strictly follow a series of procedures in order to be completed successfully, which is why we are so committed to providing relevant training.

“Technical education at all levels of the industry is paramount to its ongoing success and fortunately there are keen and committed technicians out there who really want to develop their skills and do the best possible job they can. To that end, it’s our goal to help the entire trade to reach that standard, which is why Dayco is not only committed to supplying original equipment quality products and the best possible technical advice, but first- class training as well.”
