Ireland’s first solar powered racing car, which is fitted with ultra-low rolling resistance Bridgestone tyres, will be on display on the Bridgestone stand at the 2026 Auto Trade EXPO.

The car was built by students from Dublin City University and will be raced by their team, DCU Solar Racing. Their first race took place last weekend at the iLumnen European Solar Challenge at Circuit Zolder in Belgium.
Next year, the team plans to race in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, a biennial 3,000km endurance race for solar-powered cars across Australia.
