The Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) will have a strong presence at the 2026 Auto Trade EXPO, taking place at the RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin from 10th–11th October, providing an important meeting point for tyre retailers and professionals from across the Irish tyre industry.
As the representative body for the tyre trade in Ireland, the ITIA has an important role to play in supporting its members and promoting professionalism, training, tyre safety and high industry standards.
The Association is particularly important for independent tyre retailers, giving businesses a collective voice on the regulatory, technical and commercial issues affecting the sector.

Training and professional development remain central to maintaining standards within an increasingly technical tyre industry. Modern tyre technicians must deal with sophisticated TPMS systems, ADAS-related wheel alignment requirements, larger wheel and tyre combinations, electric vehicles and rapidly developing tyre technology. Ensuring technicians have the knowledge and skills to work safely and professionally is becoming increasingly important.
Tyre safety also remains at the heart of the ITIA’s work. Correct tyre selection, fitting, inflation, inspection and maintenance are fundamental to road safety, while maintaining professional standards helps build consumer confidence in reputable tyre retailers.
Regulation and environmental responsibilities are another growing consideration. From tyre disposal and recycling obligations to changing vehicle technology and European regulations, independent tyre businesses must keep pace with an increasingly complex operating environment.
The 2026 Auto Trade EXPO will give visitors the opportunity to meet the ITIA team, discuss these challenges and learn more about the Association’s work on behalf of the industry.
For independent tyre retailers in particular, the message is clear: a strong tyre industry needs strong standards, skilled technicians and an effective representative voice — and the ITIA has an important role to play in delivering all three.
